Hendersonville is a small city located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, approximately 20 miles south of Asheville. It is situated at an elevation of approximately 2,000 feet, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges and valleys. The neighboring town of Flat Rock is located just a few miles south of Hendersonville.
Hendersonville and Flat Rock are known for their small-town charm and abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities. The area is home to a number of parks and natural areas, including the DuPont State Recreational Forest and the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site, which offer a range of activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, and camping.
In addition to its outdoor recreational opportunities, Hendersonville and Flat Rock are also home to a number of cultural attractions. These include the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra, which performs a variety of concerts throughout the year, as well as the Flat Rock Playhouse, which is the state theater of North Carolina and hosts a range of plays and musicals.
Hendersonville and Flat Rock are also home to a number of private country clubs and resorts, which offer a range of activities such as golf, tennis, and swimming. The area is also home to a number of bed and breakfast inns and vacation rentals, making it a popular destination for travelers.
